Euro Pacific’s Mark Suarez Named Top Marine Analyst by StarMine

(Westport, CT)  May 21, 2015 - The Thomson Reuters StarMine Analyst Awards Program has named Mark Suarez, the marine shipping equity analyst for Euro Pacific Capital as its #1 ranked sell-side marine analyst, in terms of earnings estimation, and its #2 ranked in terms of stock picking.  The recognition is based on Mr. Suarez’s stock selections made during the calendar year 2014, as well as earnings estimates made between 1 April, 2014 and 31 March, 2015.
 
The StarMine ranking program, which is globally recognized as the gold standard in objective measurement of sell-side research analysts, gauges performance based on the returns made on an analysts buy and sell recommendations (relative to industry benchmarks), as well as the accuracy of their published earnings estimates. Mr. Suarez specializes in analyzing small to mid-cap marine shipping companies, including those engaged in containers, crude, product, LPG tankers, dry bulk carriers, and offshore services. Currently his team covers 16 publicly traded companies listed on major exchanges in the United States and Canada. Mark Suarez joined Euro Pacific Capital in 2011 as a Senior Research Analyst covering the global transportation and logistics sector. Prior to then he had six years of experience as a transportation equity research analyst, which included working at Wolfe Research and at a Canadian bulge bracket broker-dealer covering surface and marine transportation stocks. Mr. Suarez holds a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from McGill University.  He is also a CFA® charterholder and holds FINRA Series 7, 63, 86, 87 and 24 registrations.
