Euro Pacific Capital and Halter Financial Announce the Launch of the EPH China Fund

August 31, 2009
New Mutual Fund Targets Dividend-Paying Equities Benefiting from the Strong Chinese Economy

Newport Beach, CA - August 31, 2009 - Halter Financial Investments L.P., a consultancy and money manager with operations in the U.S. and China, has combined forces with Euro Pacific Capital Inc., a U.S. retail brokerage firm headed by global investor Peter Schiff, to launch the EPH China Fund, a mutual fund designed to give investors access to companies doing business in China. The fund will be managed by Euro Pacific Halter Asia Management, Inc., a Newport Beach, CA Registered Investment Advisor owned by Euro Pacific Capital, Halter Financial Investments and the management team. The fund, which trades under the symbol EPHCX, can be purchased through Euro Pacific’s six nationwide offices. Information about the Fund can be found at www.ephasiafunds.com.

Based on the widely publicized views of its founder Peter Schiff, the author of the 2007 Crash Proof: How to Profit from the Coming Economic Collapse, the Westport, CT-based Euro Pacific Capital has become a specialist in non-U.S. dollar investing for retail clients. The EPH China Fund will look to transform Euro Pacific’s belief in the long-term promise of China’s liberalizing economy, as well as its investment preference for value oriented, dividend-paying stocks, into a professionally managed mutual fund.

The EPH China Fund will be managed by Rusty Hoss, CFA, who will benchmark the performance against the MSCI China Index. He was formally employed with Euro Pacific Capital from February 2009 through April 2009. Unlike many of the popular U.S.-listed Chinese ETFs, which are heavily concentrated in the financial sector, the fund is a broadly diversified portfolio focused on identifying those sectors and companies that the advisor believes will provide future leadership in the rapidly expanding Chinese economy. By utilizing a balanced approach between growth and value, the EPH China Fund looks to fill an uncontested niche in the marketplace.

“Given the difficulties of buying stocks on foreign exchanges, it has been a challenge for many small and mid-sized investors to put together a diversified portfolio of stocks that offer pure exposure to the Chinese economic explosion. Our new mutual fund should help to solve that problem,” said Peter Schiff. “And, as with all the investment recommendations that I make, the fund is designed to try to help protect investors from the declining purchasing power of the U.S. Dollar.”

“Unfortunately, many U.S. investors are still recovering from the financial crises of 2008 and have portfolios that are under-exposed to the Asia Pacific region, and especially China,” said Rusty Hoss. “Euro Pacific has the reputation and the sales force to bring the fund to market and Halter brings the on-the-ground experience within China that should give the portfolio a competitive edge.”

It is hoped that in the future Euro Pacific Halter Asia Management, Inc. will expand its offerings with innovative products that track key sectors of the global economy.

Changes in currency exchange rates: When the exchange rate between the foreign currency of an international investment and the U.S. dollar changes, it can increase or reduce your investment return. How does this work? Foreign companies trade and pay dividends in the currency of their local market. When you receive dividends or sell your international investment, you will need to convert the cash you receive into U.S. dollars. During a period when the foreign currency is strong compared to the U.S. dollar, this strength increases your investment return because your foreign earnings translate into more dollars. If the foreign currency weakens compared to the U.S. dollar, this weakness reduces your investment return because your earnings translate into fewer dollars.

You should consider the fund’s investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses carefully before investing. For a prospectus, which contains this and other information about the EPH China Fund, call 1-800-949-9940. Please read it carefully before investing or sending money.
