Managing Director, Santa MonicaEuro Pacific Capital
We felt fortunate to have secured the services of Matt Ward in early 2012. Some of the leading wealth management firms in the US were wooing Matt to come and join them but he decided that Euro Pacific was where he could provide his clients with the best possible solution in today’s tumultuous markets. He has quickly become a key player on the Euro Pacific team and is part of the group responsible for setting the overall direction of the firm.
Matt started his career at Lehman Brothers working alongside Peter Schiff in the late eighties/early nineties. From there he went on to work with some of the top investment banking companies in the country, including Sutro & Company and Merrill Lynch. In the mid-1990s, Mr. Ward, along with two of his colleagues, founded Maxwell Capital, a private investment banking firm. Maxwell eventually created and financed Go2net, which became one of the Internet’s top search engines. Shortly after Go2net’s initial public offering, Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, made a $1.5 billion investment for a one-third share of the company. Matt sold the firm in 2000 to National Securities where he remained until joining Euro Pacific in early 2012.
